SCARAVELLI, SOUND AND DEEPENING AWARENESS-
A DAY RETREAT
There is really no greater gift than to come together and take our time exploring the deeper aspects of yoga practice. On this one day retreat you will have the opportunity to do exactly that.
What is the underlying emotional tone in which our movements arise?
How are we relating to good and bad, tension and freedom?
What happens if the mind softens its grip on how we should do things in yoga?
How would our bodies move if we listened to their emerging feelings?
These are the types of enquiries that we will explore in this Scaravelli-inspired retreat.
I was lucky enough at the outset of my yoga journey to meet teachers who were steeped in these types of enquires – Florence Krol, Diane Long, John Stirk and Catherine Annis. When we work in this way, the Asana or posture practice becomes fuel and insight for your inner-revelations, not something that is imposed on the body from the outside.
Scaravelli inspired yoga, listens to and works with the intelligence of the nervous system, not overriding it, but allowing it time. It can be gentle with us, and it also demands everything we have got – making it a beautiful metaphor for life!
As well as movement practice, we will work with breath, meditation, rest and sound during this day together. This will definitely include a long restful yoga-nidra in the afternoon, and perhaps we’ll learn and practice some mantras together.
If you would like to arrange to host this day retreat for a private group of friends, yogis, or colleagues, please contact [email protected].
